Alexis Issaurat, a 37-year-old white supremacist, was sentenced to nine months in prison for glorifying crimes against humanity after performing a Nazi salute in court. The prosecution sought a 12-month sentence. Issaurat, previously convicted for racist insults and glorifying genocide, claimed his gesture was a Roman salute, despite clear intent being established by prosecutors and civil rights advocates. His lawyers argued for his release, citing the absurdity of committing a new infraction as he was about to be released due to prior detention. Ultimately, he was acquitted of contempt of court charges related to offensive remarks made during the proceedings.
