Deuxième session du Baccalauréat des arts: lancement des épreuves pratiques
Summary of the Launch of the Second Session of the Baccalaureate for Arts in Algeria
On Monday, Minister of National Education, Mr. Mohammed Seghir Sadaoui, inaugurated the practical examinations for the second session of the Arts Baccalaureate at the Ali-Maâchi National Arts High School in Algiers. This session marks a significant milestone as it includes candidates who are participating as free candidates for the first time.
The practical exams, conducted over a single day, involve a total of 149 participants, including 18 free candidates. They are competing in four specialties: music, cinema/audiovisual, theater, and visual arts. During the launch, Minister Sadaoui emphasized the ministry’s commitment to providing the necessary material, human, and pedagogical resources to ensure the smooth execution of these examinations. This includes comprehensive support for all candidates, particularly those with special needs, two of whom are participating.
Before officially starting the exams, Mr. Sadaoui inspected several classrooms within the high school. He expressed that each student represents a future artist who deserves proper training and guidance. He stressed the importance of instilling a sense of nationalism and appreciation for authentic Algerian culture while remaining open to global cultural influences.
He also highlighted the dedicated attention that the high authorities of Algeria, led by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, are giving to specialized high schools like the Ali-Maâchi National Arts High School. This reflects a broader effort to enrich the artistic education landscape in Algeria.
Notably, the Ministry of National Education introduced the Arts track into general and technological secondary education during the 2022-2023 academic year. This initiative aims to cultivate and enhance the artistic talents of students and to impart a cultural understanding that enables them to grasp the cultural, historical, and aesthetic dimensions of artistic creations.
Through these developments, the Algerian government is reinforcing its commitment to fostering a diverse cultural landscape while nurturing the next generation of artists.
