Summary of Training Sessions for Algerian Judiciary: Enhancing Skills and Knowledge
On Sunday, the Algerian Ministry of Justice initiated a series of training sessions aimed at magistrates, senior officials, and staff. These sessions, which will run until Thursday, are designed to bolster participants’ competencies across various legal disciplines, as stated in the ministry’s official communiqué.
A noteworthy session on "Labor Disputes and Social Security" will feature 25 magistrates at the School of Higher Judiciary (ESM). This training aims to enhance the expertise of magistrates and update their knowledge to align with recent legislative and regulatory changes in the labor sector.
In collaboration with the regional office of the Council of Europe in Tunis, two magistrates will travel to Lisbon, Portugal, for a workshop on "International Cooperation in Criminal Matters." This participation is part of the European Union and Council of Europe’s joint project, which seeks to provide training and assistance to legal professionals throughout the Mediterranean region, thereby promoting human rights protection and the rule of law via the adoption of common standards.
Additionally, as part of an ongoing cooperation program between the Algerian Ministry of Justice and the Prosecutor General’s office of the Russian Federation for the 2024-2025 period, 30 magistrates will engage in a conference in Algiers focused on combating cybercrime and addressing the illicit use of virtual currencies and digital financial assets.
In Constantine, a magistrate will attend a workshop on "Detection of Forged Documents and Techniques Used by Human Trafficking Networks," which will take place from Monday to Wednesday, in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
Furthermore, in coordination with the National School of Registry Personnel (ENPG), a training session on "Principles of Public Accounting" will be available to 25 officials from Sunday to Thursday. This session aims to enhance the capabilities of officials responsible for revenue management, providing them with a firm understanding of the legal framework and foundational principles of public accounting.
On Monday, 100 judicial officials will participate in a remote training day focused on the "Management of Child Support Funds and Related Information Systems." This initiative underscores the ministry’s commitment to improving administrative efficiency and service delivery.
Also, in coordination with the General Directorate of National Archives, 43 officials from various regional and appellate courts, as well as local administrative courts, will take part in a training session at the Regional Judicial Archives Center in Béchar, running from Sunday to Wednesday. This session will address "Organization and Management of Archives in the Digital Transition Era," with the objective of enhancing the participants’ skills in document lifecycle management, archiving, and electronic management procedures.
