Modernizing Youth Facilities in Algeria: A Commitment to Attractiveness and Engagement
On a recent visit to the youth facilities in Bougara, Blida, and Chiffa, Mustapha Hidaoui, the Minister of Youth and head of the Higher Council for Youth, emphasized the crucial need to modernize youth establishments, both structurally and in terms of services. This initiative aims to make these centers more appealing and responsive to the evolving interests and needs of young people in Algeria.
Hidaoui highlighted that the current efforts focus on remodeling youth facilities to enhance their performance and relevance in today’s societal landscape. The planned future establishments will be upgraded to reflect contemporary preferences among youth while providing additional services that meet their demands. The Minister emphasized the necessity of revitalizing the role of youth houses as pivotal spaces for creativity, where young content creators can emerge and thrive.
In Chréa, he toured the site of a new youth house that will accommodate 80 beds upon its expected completion in May. This facility is anticipated to become a significant asset for the tourism-focused region, providing young visitors with a conducive environment to learn, engage, and collaborate.
While in Chiffa, Hidaoui participated in a community Iftar meal organized by the Higher Council for Youth, reflecting the importance of social initiatives to foster community bonds. His visit included plans to continue engagements in the area, capped by his presence at the closing ceremony of Women Entrepreneurs Week, held at the regional military circle in the first military region.
