lancement de plusieurs projets de développement dans les communes d’Aïn Fras et Aïn Fekan
On Wednesday, development projects were inaugurated in the municipalities of Aïn-Fras and Aïn-Fekan in the Mascara Wilaya, overseen by Wali Fouad Aïssi during his visit to the Aïn Fekan district. These initiatives consist of urban development works in the rural settlements of El-Othmania and the agricultural village of Aïn Fras, as well as in the downtown area and the “247 lots” neighborhood of Aïn Fekan.
The urban renovation includes the resurfacing of intra-city roads along with the installation of sidewalks. The total funding for these development projects exceeds 200 million dinars, which have been allocated as part of the social and economic development program for municipalities and the Local Communities Guarantee and Solidarity Fund (FGSCL) for the current year.
Additionally, the projects encompass the expansion of the drinking water distribution network in the Ouled Mehidine residential area of Aïn Fras and the renovation of the water supply pipeline that delivers potable water to the rural locality of Chellailia in Aïn Fekan, sourced from a 500 cubic meter reservoir. These enhancements are aimed at improving the drinking water supply for the respective rural areas, according to officials from the Water Resources Directorate.
Moreover, the Wali launched projects for the construction of a health care facility in the « Laâbana » area of Aïn Fras and a school cafeteria at the « Hadji Djilali » primary school in Aïn Fekan. He also oversaw the initiation of the rehabilitation of two paths connecting Wilayah Road CW 58 to the El Djouad housing area over 2.5 km and linking National Road RN 7 to the « El Gorâa » area over 1.7 km, all within Aïn Fekan.
During an inspection of a grain storage center under construction in Aïn Fekan, which is presently about 70% complete, the Wali stressed the importance of expediting the project to ensure its completion by the end of June.
Furthermore, he supervised the commissioning of a nearby sports field, equipped with synthetic turf, which has undergone rehabilitation in Aïn Fras. He also inspected connectivity projects for the El-Othmania rural locality to the electrical grid and the establishment of a new 200-student capacity school in Aïn Fekan, with completion anticipated before the upcoming school year.
In conclusion, the series of development projects initiated in Mascara’s Aïn-Fras and Aïn-Fekan regions aims to significantly enhance urban infrastructure, improve essential services such as potable water supply, provide healthcare and educational facilities, and promote community well-being. By investing over 200 million dinars, the local government seeks to uplift the living standards of residents and foster sustainable development in these communities.
