Algeria’s Commitment to Professionalizing Football: A Seminar Overview
On Wednesday, in Algiers, Sports Minister Walid Sadi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting Algerian football clubs in their professionalization efforts. Speaking at the inauguration of a seminar focused on football professionalization, organized by the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) in partnership with FIFA, Sadi emphasized that the goal of the event was to clarify operational practices and strategies that foster effective management, transparent governance, and enhanced competitiveness. Additionally, he noted that the seminar aimed to promote a culture of professionalism within sports broadly.
The seminar featured international experts and specialists who Sadi stated would undoubtedly have a positive impact on Algerian football. He compared this initiative to the recent advancements seen in the modernization of officiating through the introduction of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology, underscoring the potential benefits of such innovations.
