L’Algérien Khaled Ouennouf intègre le Bureau Exécutif de l’Union arabe de judo
AMMAN – Khaled Ouennouf, the first vice-president of the Algerian Judo Federation, has officially joined the Executive Bureau of the Arab Union of Judo (UAJ) for the 2025-2028 Olympic term. His election took place during the UAJ’s General Assembly held on Tuesday in Amman, Jordan, alongside the Arab Judo Championships 2025.
Following this significant achievement, Yacine Sillini, the president of the Algerian Federation, expressed his congratulations on various social media platforms, wishing Ouennouf success in his new role.
In the same competitive arena, Algeria is represented by a team of eleven judokas, comprising seven boys and four girls, all participating in the cadet category. The team is coached by Hamid Chalal and Asma Belaïdouche. The male competitors include: Ala-Eddine Sahraoui (-50 kg), Larbi Addad (-55 kg), Mohamed Amine Dekouah (-60 kg), Mohamed Sadek Laoued (-66 kg), Oussama Laïb (-73 kg), Soheïb Zitouni (-81 kg), and Merouane Mohamed Anis Bettahar (-90 kg). The female competitors are Roufaïda Bousebaâ (-44 kg), Ranim Chaïbi (-52 kg), Dounia Berrahouel (-57 kg), and Dounia Adda (-70 kg).
The young Algerian judokas, having undergone rigorous preparations for this event, are optimistic about achieving a strong performance in Jordan and bringing home as many gold medals as possible. Notably, many athletes on the team have previously won gold medals at the latest African Championships, which further fuels their ambition for success in the Arab Championships.
