Djazagro 2025: A Flourishing Hub for Algeria’s Agrifood Sector

The Djazagro 2025 exhibition launched on Monday at the Palais des Expositions in Pins Maritimes, Algiers, showcasing a significant advancement in Algeria’s agrifood and packaging sectors. With participation from 540 companies across 38 countries—44% of which hail from the European Union, alongside contributions from Asian and Turkish firms—the event underscores a rising interest in Algeria’s agrifood landscape.

Nabil Bey Boumezrag, the General Director of Promo Salon, which organized the event, highlighted that 150 Algerian companies are participating, exemplifying the dynamic growth within the national agrifood sector. He emphasized that such robust participation reflects the accelerated development of this crucial segment of Algeria’s economy. Boumezrag noted, “The agrifood sector has become a major driving force in the national economy,” attributing this growth to an increase in agricultural production in recent years. This abundance has paved the way for new opportunities, particularly for manufacturers focused on the processing of fruits and vegetables.

Innovation in packaging holds central importance during the exhibition. Boumezrag extended an invitation to young talents and project initiators to explore industrial solutions that comply with international standards, suggesting that innovative packaging could further enhance the competitiveness of Algerian products.

Furthermore, Chantal De Lamotte, a representative of Comexposum, one of the event partners, emphasized the relevance of the seminars scheduled around the exhibition. Topics addressed will include the optimal utilization of agricultural lands in Algeria, aiming to enhance local resource exploitation and reduce reliance on imports. She praised the quality of local agricultural products, which she believes can greatly contribute to national self-sufficiency.

The exhibition not only features numerous influential national brands but also includes companies engaged in exporting to European and African markets. Visitors can expect to see a wide array of offerings that embody the country’s growth potential in this field.

Organizers anticipate that Djazagro will attract around 23,000 visitors, reiterating the exhibition’s significance as a key event for the agrifood industry. It provides a vital platform for commercial exchanges and industrial innovation, embodying the future of Algeria’s agrifood sector. The exhibition represents not just an opportunity for trade but a collaborative environment where stakeholders can share insights and influence the direction of the industry.

In conclusion, Djazagro 2025 stands as a testament to Algeria’s commitment to enhancing its agrifood sector, supported by both domestic and international players. The exhibition represents an excellent opportunity for industrial advancements, showcasing promising solutions that align with global standards while addressing local needs. As the agrifood sector continues to thrive, events like Djazagro play a pivotal role in fostering relationships, encouraging innovation, and paving the way for future growth.
