Connected Algeria 2025 Conference Kicks Off in Algiers
On Monday, the "Connected Algeria 2025" conference commenced at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center in Algiers. This event, organized by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, operates under the slogan "Innovate, Connect… The Future Awaits." The conference is being held under the patronage of Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui, and features the participation of government officials along with representatives from various entities in the telecommunications and technology sectors.
In his opening remarks, Minister of Post and Telecommunications Sid Ali Zerrouki stated that Algeria has made significant strides in digitization over the past few years. This progress, he noted, is largely due to the insightful direction provided by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, as part of a comprehensive government vision to establish a sovereign, dynamic, and globally engaged digital economy.
Zerrouki explained that the ministry is focused on developing the national telecommunications infrastructure. This involves modernizing networks, expanding coverage, and preparing for upcoming advancements in technology. Specific emphasis is placed on connecting remote areas and ensuring equitable access to technology across the nation.
The minister highlighted the importance of collective efforts in building a connected Algeria, emphasizing that success cannot rely on a single sector or organization. Instead, it requires robust partnerships between the public and private sectors, along with collaboration from universities and digital stakeholders.
The conference aims to facilitate Algeria’s digital transformation by serving as a platform for innovation, cooperation, and technological advancement. It is positioned as a catalyst for collaboration among key players in the technology ecosystem, including startups, decision-makers, and investors. Through advanced discussions, pioneering technological approaches, and strategic communication opportunities, the event seeks to accelerate Algeria’s transition to a competitive and developed digital economy.
Over the course of the two-day conference, various critical topics will be addressed, including cybersecurity, data protection, advanced technologies, industrial transition, innovation centers, digital transformation, and electronic governance. The conference represents a significant step towards establishing a progressive technological framework that aligns with both national and international standards.
This initiative signifies Algeria’s commitment to establishing a modern and interconnected future, prioritizing innovation and cooperation among diverse stakeholders in the digital landscape. The focus on revitalizing the telecommunications infrastructure and supporting technological innovation is crucial for fostering an environment that encourages growth and competitiveness in the digital economy. As discussions unfold, the potential for constructive dialogue and actionable solutions to the challenges faced in this arena will be paramount.
In summary, the "Connected Algeria 2025" conference epitomizes a proactive approach to digital transformation, urging various sectors to engage in a unified effort towards achieving a fully connected and innovative Algeria.
